Abstract. The article is devoted to the issues of coordinate support for monitoring of the natural resources and objects using satellite methods. The resources and objects that require a coordinate referencing to the terrain during ecological monitoring were considered. The advantages of using satellite positioning methods over the traditional geodetic ones are given. A review of the main methods of coordinate definitions (navigation definitions, differential method with the use of a base station, satellite systems of high-precision positioning) was done. The available accuracies of each of methods are shown. The conceptual issues of technology of the satellite coordinate determinations are considered. The authors give the results of research on the use of PPP technology (Precise Point Positioning). The absolute method of coordinate determinations in the PPP technology provides accuracy in the real-time mode under static conditions at the level of root-mean-square errors of 3-5 cm and during dynamics – 10 cm. The application of various methods of satellite coordinate determinations depending on the accuracy requirements for monitoring natural resources and objects (at the meter, decimeter, centimeter and millimeter levels), as well as the user equipment utilized in the methods.
