Abstract. The article describes the information and analytical forest fire detection management system developed by the authors based on modern information technologies. The system consists of three blocks: a control block, a data collection and transmission block, and a monitoring block. In addition, the authors provide a detailed description of the system’s operation and present its schematic diagram. An important feature of the developed system is its integration with devices based on the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence technologies, as well as the combination of various methods for monitoring natural fires. The authors describe in detail the advantages and disadvantages of existing methods for monitoring natural fires: aviation, space, and using unmanned aerial vehicles. In addition, the paper highlights the main advantages of using devices based on the Internet of Things: the ability to remotely monitor fire hazards in real time; the ability to remotely collect meteorological data to assess the likelihood of fire occurrence and spread in a specific area; and the ability to more effectively allocate firefighting resources by analyzing data in real time, which can improve the effectiveness of firefighting operations. The authors also identified certain drawbacks in their critical analysis of the proposed system, which are also described in the paper. The main requirements include a constant and stable network connection, as well as regular maintenance, repair, and calibration of IoT sensors and devices.
