Abstract. The purpose of the study is to reduce the level of negative impact of gas emissions at the fields of the Joint Stock Company «Verkhnechonskneftegaz» through the storage and disposal of carbon dioxide as part of the use of the gas program. In this study, the authors considered the relevance of the topic, analyzed a different range of associated petroleum gas utilization problems encountered in the oil and gas industry, studied the existing options for its further use and storage, and considered their advantages and disadvantages. Legislative and regulatory acts are indicated, with the help of which the Russian Federation regulates the issues of reducing the carbon footprint. The article analyzes the use of two methods of storage and utilization of carbon dioxide in the fields in the framework of the activities of the Joint Stock Company «Verkhnechonskneftegaz». Various options for the further use and storage of associated petroleum gas are identified, and its efficiency is also evaluated. Along with the already used method of injection into the reservoir, the option of selling gas to the main gas pipeline «Power of Siberia» was considered. The considered methods can be used in any subsidiaries of the Public Joint Stock Company «Oil Company» Rosneft «in order to optimize the cost of paying payments for carbon dioxide combustion, as well as achieving carbon neutrality. Various options for the further use and storage of associated petroleum gas have been identified, and its effectiveness has been evaluated. The article gives the characteristics of the applied methods of decarbonization; an analysis was made of the current state of gas utilization, as well as the prerequisites for the implementation of projects for the environmental utilization of carbon dioxide; the advantages and disadvantages of methods of its storage and disposal are considered; the calculation of the economic efficiency of the introduction of gas storage and utilization technology is given on the example of the fields of Verkhnechonskneftegaz JSC.
