The paper used the following methods: analysis, generalization, synthesis, statistical method, comparative approach, statistical method; also main economic efficiency indicators in the field of innovative projects were used, and the methodology for assessing nuclear power plants economic efficiency developed by S. Hirshberg was used. The relevance of the research topic is determined by the insufficient development of approaches to assessing the economic efficiency of innovative projects in nuclear energy at present. The authors analyzed and summarized the activities of Rosenergoatom Concern Joint-Stock Company in the field of innovative projects. Based on the analysis conducted, as well as on the generalization of previous studies, the authors developed a block diagram of possible effects of innovative projects in nuclear energy, as well as a classification of existing methods for assessing the effectiveness of innovative projects in nuclear energy. The block diagram and classification proposed by the authors can become the basis for further development of a comprehensive methodology for assessing the economic efficiency of the innovative project of Joint-Stock Company Concern Rosenergoatom for the introduction of a closed nuclear fuel cycle with fast neutron reactors, as well as other similar innovative projects.
