The authors consider the evolutionary path of scientific knowledge from ancient philosophy to the formation of independent disciplines, focusing on the interdisciplinary nature of modern research in the field of regional economics. The work demonstrates the transformation of economic science, starting with the Aristotelian distinction between economics and chrematistics, through the differentiation of philosophical knowledge to the formation of regional economics as an independent scientific field. Particular attention is paid to the methodological foundations of interdisciplinary research, including the synthesis of economic, geographical, sociological and managerial approaches. The central place in the study is occupied by the analysis of territorial marketing as a tool for the socio-economic development of regions. The authors systematize various interpretations of the concepts of «territorial marketing», «territory marketing» and «marketing on the territory», identifying the specifics of each area. A significant part of the study is devoted to the analysis of modern trends in the development of territorial marketing in the context of globalization and digital transformation. The authors highlight three key areas: the use of global changes to create sustainable transport systems and preserve cultural heritage; development of a digital economy that transforms communication processes between government bodies and citizens; formation of a market mechanism with maximum differentiation of stakeholders. The study emphasizes the growing role of territorial branding, attracting investment flows and developing the tourism industry as key elements of regional competitiveness. The authors substantiate the need to integrate new methodological approaches to improve the efficiency of territorial management in the context of increasing interregional competition. The scientific significance of the work lies in the comprehensive analysis of the evolution of territorial marketing and the identification of promising areas for the development of interdisciplinary methodologies to ensure sustainable socio-economic development of regions.

Keywords: marketing; territorial marketing; territorial branding; competitive advantages; investment climate; digitalization; tourism; infrastructure; socio-economic development

Bogonosova Irina Aleksandrovna Moscow State University of Technology and Management named after K.G.
