The high but vulnerable productivity of these ecosystems is emphasized due to the dynamic hydrological regime. Special attention is paid to the methodological framework, which includes a set of landscape, ecological, chemical and bioindication approaches for the geoecological assessment of the territory. As a highly accurate tool for retrospective productivity analysis and biomonitoring of anthropogenic impact, the dendroanatomic method based on quantitative analysis of histological elements of annual layers of edifying species using the willow example is considered in detail.
