In this regard, the methods of collecting information, as well as their integration into geographic information systems and databases, are improving. This allows us to solve many problems in such areas as: design of buildings, planning of territorial development. At the same time, the problem of interaction between old cartographic sources and newly obtained geodata is of particular importance. Despite the availability of theoretical and software solutions, the systematization of the use of historical maps in geographic information systems is insufficiently developed. The article considers the possibilities of automating the process of interaction between historical maps and modern geodata using geographic information systems. The process of using geographic information monitoring for more efficient visualization of spatial data is considered. Georeferencing methods and the most suitable cartographic projections are described. The process of georeferencing old maps and satellite images in the geographic information system of the automation module is described. Much attention is also paid to the area of the study. The paper presents the results of the study at the regional level. The results obtained in this article demonstrate the convenience of using geographic information system modules with geographic information monitoring methods for decisions on the design and planning of territories. This article will be of interest to those in the fields of geoinformatics, cartography, navigation, and construction.

Keywords: geoinformatics; mapping; geoinformation systems; electronic maps; geoinformation monitoring; remote sensing data; geoinformation service

Shaytura Sergey Vladimirovich Moscow State University of Technology and Management named after K.G.
