Abstract.<\/strong> The article addresses the pressing issue of developing an effective system for recording and monitoring springs as an important natural resource and one of the sources of clean drinking water for the population. Given the increasing anthropogenic pressure on groundwater bodies in the Kursk Region, there is an urgent need to systematise data on the region\u2019s springs. The aim of the study is to develop a specialised online resource for the inventory and monitoring of springs in the Kursk Region, using modern information technologies and crowdsourcing principles. To implement the project on recording springs in the Kursk Region, the authors used the WordPress content management system \u2014 open\u2011source software written in PHP and using a MySQL database. The main results are presented as a functional prototype of the online resource, which includes: an interactive map showing the locations of springs; a system for adding new objects; spring profiles with detailed characteristics; mechanisms for moderating user\u2011generated content. The practical significance of the work lies in creating an effective tool for systematically recording springs, monitoring their condition, and assessing the ecological status of natural springs in order to plan nature conservation measures and prevent spring degradation. The resource developed by the authors enables broad public involvement in monitoring the condition of natural springs, thus contributing to their preservation and sustainable use. The research findings can be used to create similar spring recording systems in other regions.<\/p>\n
