Abstract. In the article one of the main problems of the Mytischi urban district near Moscow is considered – the condition of the city’s water artery – the Yauza River. Measured water contamination levels at several points of the river, identified the most problematic areas, suggested possible solutions to this problem. The authors of this article pay much attention to the systematic approach of clearing the Yauza on its entire length, its tributaries, both on the territory of the capital and in the Moscow region.
