Abstract. The aim of the work is to develop approaches for the management of solid municipal waste for the development of the urban economy.

The relevance of the work. The relevance of the chosen research topic is due to the fact that currently the disposal, prevention and greening of solid municipal waste in the system of functioning of housing infrastructure facilities in the city is of great importance.

The method or methodology of the work. The study is based on a monographic research method using economic and mathematical calculations. The method of regulatory analysis and methodological techniques for assessing the solid municipal waste management system are used. An assessment of the legal norms regulating the procedure for the accumulation and use of solid municipal waste has been made.

Results. In this paper, the features of the use of plastic in the conditions of processing municipal solid waste by their suppliers are investigated. The article notes the advantages of unification of payments for the removal of solid household waste in the context of the introduction of a single tariff. These innovations in the turnover of cash flows for solid municipal waste will have a positive impact on the housing and communal policy of the city. The infrastructural and socio-economic development of the city depends on the application of the best practices of harvesting, processing and disposal of municipal solid waste.

The paper examines the concept and essence of the processes of urban economy development with the definition of the role of the city in the reproductive system of resources required to ensure the quality of life of society.

The author focuses on the conditions of preserving the economic potential of the city, including by increasing the efficiency of solid municipal waste turnover.

The study examines the parameters of budget financing within the framework of the implementation of the Federal project «Integrated MSW Management System».

According to the results of the conducted research, the author reflects the regional practice of recycling municipal solid waste, on the basis of which the leaders in the reuse of waste in the urban environment of the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District are identified.
