Abstract. The Russian Federation has developed and adopted the Concept of State Policy to Combat the Consumption of Tobacco and Other Nicotine-Containing Products for the Period up to 2035 and Beyond. It defined the goals, objectives, basic principles and directions of state policy in the field of combating and consuming tobacco and other nicotine-containing products.
In our country, smoking is one of the most common bad habits and is a serious problem for the life and health of the nation.
The article presents the results of a study conducted at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The study was conducted from June 1, 2023 to May 1, 2024. Based on the results of the analysis, the authors showed a relationship between the severity of tobacco dependence in smoking cancer patients and the localization of the cancer. The results of the conducted medical research were developed approaches to reducing the intensity of smoking at different stages of treatment of cancer patients, both in the conditions of an oncology hospital and outpatient. The authors developed methods of treating tobacco dependence in patients diagnosed with lung cancer, as well as in other localizations of cancer, which is intended to become an integral part of a complex of medical measures to provide assistance to this contingent of patients.
