Abstract. For many years, the industry of the USSR, and then Russia, did not pay due attention to environmental protection and restoration, and the costs of implementing these measures were minimal. As a result of this approach, a large number of «hot spots» have emerged that are currently of concern to the state: landfills, landfills, settling ponds, sludge storage facilities and other facilities called «objects of accumulated environmental damage».

The article considers objects of accumulated environmental damage included in the state register of objects of accumulated environmental damage as of 01/15/2026 in the context of federal districts and regions of the Russian Federation.

The authors conducted a comparative analysis of the objects of accumulated environmental damage included in the GRONVOS as of 09/14/2023 and 01/15/2026, as well as changes in legislation in the field of accumulated environmental damage affecting the classification of objects as objects of accumulated environmental damage.

Keywords: objects of accumulated environmental damage; state register; identification; liquidation; subjects of the Russian Federation; federal districts
