Abstract. The article discusses issues related to equipment loading that are relevant for industrial enterprises. The authors have analyzed the production activities of various types of industrial enterprises. The selected industrial enterprises belong to different sectors (cable products, pipe systems, and specialized cables), but they share common characteristics in terms of production losses and inefficient use of equipment.
The article identifies the main factors that affect the efficiency of production activities, as well as the general problems of equipment loading in industrial enterprises.
It is shown that there is a problem common to all enterprises related to the loading of equipment. The rationalization of business processes related to the loading of equipment requires consideration of the specifics of production systems that operate under conditions of high resource dependence, technological heterogeneity, and limited flexibility. The loading of equipment is a key indicator that affects the efficiency of production. The authors have conducted a comparative analysis of methods for optimizing the loading of equipment. The authors have concluded that most of the algorithms used rely on a static or weakly adaptive loading model, which reduces efficiency in a highly variable production environment. Thus, even with seemingly optimal planning, there is an excessive waste of resources: the equipment is either idle or overloaded. The article presents a developed algorithm for loading equipment, which can be used in various production enterprises. The algorithm is based on the rationalization of equipment loading, taking into account the minimization of the production plan’s intensity and the maximization of workplace loading in conditions of a large product range, the lack of proportionality between operational labor costs and types of work, and the instability of production volumes by month.
