Abstract. In this scientific publication, the author analyzes the fourth industrial revolution in the context of the global economy, when the scientific and technological progress of countries is connected, and is also the subject of import and export. The author considers the essence of the concept of the fourth industrial revolution, as well as the essential characteristics of globalization, and the risks and threats that the industrial revolution brings to the global society. The author notes that the fourth industrial revolution will inevitably affect many industries in all economies. Trade, transport, and other market segments can benefit, and new high-paying jobs can be created, but there are potential challenges associated with the movement of workers due to automation and increased income inequality. The author focuses on the positive aspects of the ongoing transformation of society: following the reduction of jobs, the industrial revolution actively creates new ones that are more suitable for professional growth, thereby increasing the creative potential of the individual and developing human capital. The author analyzes the spread of the achievements of the fourth industrial revolution on the example of the countries of Europe, since in this territory historically the fastest progress is made and new technologies are introduced, not only in production, but also in everyday life. The author concludes that among the countries of Europe, Norway and the Netherlands achieved the greatest success in integrating the results of the industrial revolution, which have gone through all previous production revolutions and developed administrative measures aimed at regulating and optimizing emerging technologies.
