Abstract. The author of the publication analyzes the features of protecting the business reputation of participants in business relations. Since business has a great contribution to the development of the country’s economy, it is necessary to create the most comfortable environment for doing business for both Russian and foreign legal entities. The subjects of business reputation are all legal entities, it does not matter what type they are, what organizational and legal form. It should also be noted that the variability of business reputation is an important property of a business entity, which can have a significant impact on its activities and financial position, which once again proves its dynamic nature. At the same time, the author argues that, realizing the importance and value of such a category of intangible benefits as goodwill, with its inherent vulnerability to negative impact, at the legislative level it is necessary to consolidate a clear and reliable system of legal protection. The article presents a fairly wide list of ways to protect business reputation. The choice remains with the plaintiff, it is he who determines for himself which of the methods is preferable and is more likely to help him correct the situation. Special attention in the article is paid to the consideration of the rules regarding the dissemination of information that does not correspond to reality through the Internet, introduced in 2013. Moreover, on the Internet, “forums” are very popular, where people discuss any things in a certain “forum topic”, anything can be topics, and very often people can speak negatively about this or that organization, such thus belittling her business reputation. According to the author, it is necessary to expand the list of methods indicated in the article by adding a provision on making a public apology.
