Abstract. The article studies the social consequences of the production of cryptocurrencies, which are expressed not only in the growth of the cost of cryptocurrencies, but also in the increase in the cost of equipment, which will soon lead to the inaccessibility of video cards and other equipment for a significant part of the population. The research goal is to draw up proposals for controlling the turnover of cryptocurrency and pricing for video cards. The authors consider the dependence of the change in the price of video cards on the exchange rate of cryptocurrencies, as well as the ability of the population to purchase video cards and the formation of the market for PC components, and propose a formula for calculating the efficiency of mining cryptocurrency for a video card. The priority tasks are to analyze the factors influencing the subject of the study and identify the main interested groups in the increase in cryptocurrency prices. The theoretical significance of the study is related to proposals in the field of legislative regulation of the circulation of cryptocurrencies, as well as the systematization of knowledge about the market. In practical terms, the authors propose formulas for calculating the tax on cryptocurrency. In this study, a comparative approach is used, which compares different video cards, regions and their attractiveness for crypto miners, legislative regulation in the field of crypto exchange control. The modeling method is used in the field of identifying the impact of proposals on the state of the market in the coming years. The author’s method of controlling crypto mining and varying depending on the production power is used, which consists in plotting the dependence of changes in prices for cryptocurrency and the tax on the purchase of video cards, taking into account their capacities in relation to the efficiency of cryptocurrency mining, as well as differentiation of types of video cards from custom to «industrial».
