Abstract. One of the priority tasks of the country’s economy in the conditions of economic and political sanctions is the development of the country’s territories and domestic tourism. Specially protected natural areas are traditionally not included in the range of scientific and practical interests from the standpoint of transport accessibility.

The purpose of this work is to analyze Russian and foreign studies, as well as practices and methods for the organization and functioning of specially protected natural areas from the standpoint of taking into account the factor of transport accessibility. The object of this study are specially protected areas of various types. The subject of the study is the accounting of transport accessibility of specially protected natural areas in various regions of Russia and foreign countries.

The information base of the study was Russian and foreign publications that consider the problems of organization and operation of specially protected natural areas.

The analysis of Russian strategic and regulatory documents considering the prospects for the development of specially protected natural areas has been carried out. Foreign sources of information are analyzed that consider the role and importance of the transport factor in the work of natural and national parks.

As the main results of the work, one should consider highlighting the problem of insufficient consideration of transport accessibility and transport support for specially protected natural areas in Russia.
