Abstract. The article is about a study of the air distribution modes at the Ust-Yayvinsky mine of PJSC Uralkali in Berezniki, Perm Krai. The impossibility of directly determining the modes by the angle of installation of the fan blades is justified due to the design features. A method for investigating the parameters of the main ventilation system is described, which consists in determining the correspondence between the characteristics of the ventilation network and the vane pump during experiments. The values measured during the experiment are justified: barometric pressure, statistical pressure at the intake and exhaust of the fan, the cross-sectional area of the ventilation duct, the average air flow velocity, as well as the position of the airlock gates used in the experiment as a disturbance. The flow rate was determined by averaging over the upper and lower parts of the channel section. The measuring locations have been determined, as well as the locations of possible air flow losses. Experiments have been carried out with the main ventilation system in normal and reverse modes. The aerodynamic characteristics of the fan in normal and reverse modes are constructed. Based on them, the dependences of the fan characteristics on the position of the blades and the calculated angles of installation of the blades in different modes have been established, which makes it possible to reasonably regulate the air supply to the mine field or create a general depression in the future. It is shown that the actual aerodynamic characteristics of the fan under these operating conditions do not correspond to those provided by the manufacturer, therefore, the author’s approach and experimental methodology can be used to clarify the characteristics of other similar ventilation systems.
