Abstract. The article is intended to draw readers’ attention to the modernity and importance of the discipline “life Safety” for training bachelors in universities in the face of increasing threats and risks. The authors emphasize that the human being need for security is one of the basic human being needs. Risk management and security of socio-economic, socio-political systems and natural and technological complexes are the basis of national security and sustainable development. The article proposes to consider the results of a study of students’ opinions on the mandatory for all universities discipline “life Safety”, conducted by the authors of the article. The author presents a questionnaire to survey students to ascertain students’ attitudes to the subject “Safety” and assess students’ understanding of the importance of this discipline for professional, personal and social life of human being. The article presents the results of a survey of 1st year students in various areas of bachelor’s training at the State University of management, which reflects the opinions of survey participants on the importance of the discipline for everyone’s life, the use of computer technology in the classroom, working out basic knowledge and skills in practice, what students liked in teaching the discipline, and what, in the opinion of students, should be improved in teaching the discipline. The article presents conclusions and recommendations in the field of organization and implementation of bachelor’s training in the discipline “life Safety”, obtained on the basis of the research and analysis of the experience of teaching students in the discipline “life Safety” in various areas of bachelor’s training in higher education. The authors describe the experience of leading universities in the field of training in the discipline “life Safety”, including the experience of the first management University – the State University of management, which is 100 years old.
