Abstract. The article gives a general description of the solid municipal waste collecting and exporting system. The definition of solid municipal (household) wastes is given, main waste sources are listed. The elements included in the waste collection system are considered. Approaches to determining the optimality of the collecting solid domestic wastes process are considered. The objective function of the criterion of optimality is presented. The basic elements of the simulation model developed in the AnyLogic modeling environment designed to solve the problem of optimality of the solid municipal waste collection and removal process are presented. Some results are presented. Conclusions are made about the feasibility and applicability of simulation models for solving optimization problems.
