Abstract. The relevance of the work lies in the justification of the need to pay attention to modern business on the development of consumer cooperation. The aim of the work is to describe the place and role of consumer cooperation in the modern Russian economy.

Solving the work tasks carried out on the basis of application of scientific research methods within the comparative, logical and statistical analysis and through the analysis of the structure and dynamics of information.

The result of this study was the proof of the need to revise the system of organization and financing of consumer cooperation in the modern Russian economy, including elements of public-cooperative partnership, leasing, franchising, outsourcing, raising funds of non-cooperative population, as well as the creation of a system of education of cooperative personnel.
