Abstract. This work is devoted to the analysis of the features of the digital transformation of the banking sector within the framework of modern economic systems. The paper examines the impact of digitalization on the activities of banking organizations. This impact is reflected in the emergence of a new type of banking organizations, namely digital ones, which operate exclusively in the online space and do not have physical offices for interacting with service users. The analysis of digital transformation demonstrates that it is associated with a number of features in the banking sector, which are reflected in a steady increase in the cost of implementing new technological solutions, expanding the list of technologies and tools used, increasing user requirements, as well as the development of ecosystem models. The ecosystem model of banking is one of the most striking examples of the impact of digital transformation and reflects the desire of banks to penetrate new industries, integrating them with the main line of operation. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the problems faced by banking organizations in the course of digital transformation. Thus, many banks do not have enough resources to implement a high-quality digital transition. In addition, the current legislative aspects force some banks to carry out the transformation in an accelerated manner, which complicates the work, but at the same time stimulates the growth of interaction and cooperation in the market. Thus, the digital transformation in the banking sector has a number of features that affect banks and the vector of their development in modern economic systems.
