Abstract. This publication is devoted to the study of the role of sharing platforms in ensuring economic growth. Some authors define the sharing economy as a business model that appeared due to changes in life in society, and this transformation is still one of the main prerequisites for modernizing the sharing system. Within the framework of the article, the sharing economy is considered from the perspective of a business model that is a catalyst for the transformation of people’s views and lives. In addition, it is emphasized that the type of economy under study increases the efficiency of the use of the good, which regressively affects investment needs and progressively affects various aspects of economic growth. In Russia, the sharing economy is most clearly represented by the use of such resources as Delimobil, DaruDar, OtdamDarom, YouDo, BeepCar, Airbnb, Uber, BlaBlaCar. The author pays special attention to the study of the structure of the sharing economy model, defines the values and principles that unite the social, economic and environmental principles, as well as the mechanisms of sharing that contribute to the growth of the economy. The factors favoring and hindering the development of the sharing economy have been established. According to the author, the sharing economy not only brings a large number of social, political and economic benefits, but also fights environmental problems. In addition, the founders of the platforms note that sharing not only contributes to excellent earnings, but also, having a good message, inspires even more progressive and efficient activities.
To confirm the overall theoretical basis, the author conducted an empirical study that determined the real prospects for this sector. His results are also presented in the final article. On their basis, the author formulated conclusions regarding the role of sharing platforms in ensuring economic growth.
